DJ Burns has offered a reaction to the reports claiming he’s receiving attention from NFL teams amid his NCAA Tournament exploits.
The NC State forward has been one of the focal points of this year’s tournament given the Wolfpack’s unlikely run to the Final Four as an 11th seed. And, having made a name for himself this year, Burns has been the subject of reports suggesting that there are NFL teams interested in him.
According to the pieces in circulation, there are multiple teams keen on offering Burns a route to the NFL should he decide he no longer wants to play basketball after the tournament.
The 23-year-old responded to the reports during an appearance on ‘The Dan Patrick Show’ this week and implied that there’s nothing to the claims.

“That’s the plan,” he told Dan Patrick.
DJ Burns Has Very Little Interest In Playing Football
DJ Burns is willing to exhaust every basketball avenue before opting to give football a try. Patrick pressed the player on whether he would consider football should the NBA not work out for him, but he knocked the idea back.
“I’d probably explore some other options with basketball first before all of that, but I’m not a closed minded person,” he said.
The Wolfpack big man also made it clear that no NFL teams have contacted him directly about playing professional football.
In spite of the above, there is believed to be real interest in the player, with Senior Bowl director Jim Nagy saying as much to On3.
