Every year, we get reminders sent out for people in the USA to be careful when handling fireworks for the Fourth of July celebrations.
Unfortunately, a ton of people always end up getting hurt, whether it’s minor or downright catastrophic.
Such was the case for multiple people who found themselves injured during a scary situation when a set of fireworks malfunctioned during the Stadium of Fire performance in a Provo Fourth of July festival on Thursday.
At least six people had to be taken to a hospital after pyrotechnics struck onlookers at the Stadium of Fire event at LaVell Edwards Stadium, according to ABC4.
Multiple videos with multiple angles show the fireworks going into the crowd at different times when they were supposed to shoot into the air.
One person reportedly who was seriously injured was hit in the face.
KSL reported that the people hit were in the east section of the crowd at Brigham Young University’s LaVell Edwards Stadium.

The Stadium of Fire is an annual event on the Fourth of July. Before the fireworks, there was a jet flyover. The event also featured the Jonas Brothers.
The event had to be put on hold while crews worked at the scene. The Fourth of July celebrations would eventually resume after the short delay.
Organizers of the Freedom Festival sent the following statement on the matter: “Safety is of the utmost importance to us. All pyrotechnics are thoroughly checked before the show, and were rechecked after the incident. Our thoughts are with those who are impacted by the incident, and we are following up with them to make sure they are okay.”
Jason Pierre-Paul Remains A Constant Reminder To Be Careful During Fourth of July Celebrations
Former New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul is brought up every year on the Fourth of July after he was forced to have his index finger amputated following a fireworks accident in 2015.
Pierre-Paul was trying to light fireworks that constantly kept getting blown out by the wind when the final try produced a major boom that would forever change his life.
Fortunately for him, he would be able to continue his career and play until this past 2023 season.
