LSU head coach Brian Kelly found an unlikely opportunity to troll rival Lane Kiffin this week and took full advantage.
The Ole Miss HC recently went viral for criticizing Coca-Cola, having gone on a rant after spotting a bottle of the popular soda on his podium.
“Does anybody drink Coke?” he asked reporters, “130 percent of your sugar for the entire day is in this one bottle.”
He went on to reveal he hadn’t had a Coca-Cola in a “Long time.”
Kelly appeared in front of reporters on Wednesday and sang a very different tune. He praised the sponsors, claiming they provide everything one needs.

“Just a shout out to our sponsor, Coke,” he said as he took to the podium for his presser. “Smartwater, great Coke product. Minerals, vitamins, it’s just great for you. It’s refreshing, healthy. Coke provides you all the products that you need, depending on what you like.

Brian Kelly And Lane Kiffin Seem To Enjoy Trolling Each Other
The two head coaches have taken turns trolling each other since they joined the SEC programs. Kiffin had a laugh at a TikTok showing Kelly posing for a comical Glambot video with recruit Danny Lewis Jr. in 2022. LSU responded to Kiffin’s jibes, but they waited until the Tigers beat Ole Miss in the 2022/23 season.
Kiffin made reference to the video again this year while taking a shot at Missouri head coach Eliah Drinkwitz in June.
As such, Kelly saw his shot and took it after Kiffin’s random Coke rant on Monday, and we’re hoping there’s a response from the latter.
Meanwhile, they will face off again when LSU hosts Ole Miss in Baton Rouge on October 12.
The Rebels have touched their highest preseason ranking in several years as they’re going into the season at No. 6. They also represent the toughest matchup for LSU on the latter’s schedule.
It should be quite a game, given that there’s no love lost between the two programs.
We’re willing to bet Brian Kelly will have some Coke on the sideline.
