ESPN play-by-play commentator Sean McDonough couldn’t help but take a shot at Dabo Swinney and the Clemson offense with a clever Mike Tyson joke during the Tigers-Pittsburgh game on Saturday.
The No. 20 ranked Tigers came into Pittsburgh and narrowly snuck past the unranked Panthers with a 24-20 victory. However, the Tigers’ inconsistency on offense allowed Mr. McDonough to deliver a perfectly timed Mike Tyson one-liner in the fourth quarter.
The 58-year-old Tyson came out of retirement to face YouTube star Jake Paul in a boxing match at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Tyson gave it his all, but the 27-year-old Paul scored a unanimous decision victory in what was likely “Iron Mike’s” final boxing bout.
One day after the highly-anticipated boxing out, McDonough took a shot at Dibo Swinney and the Tigers with this epic line:
“Think Mike Tyson landed more punches last night than Dabo Swinney’s offense has during the second half.”
It’s almost as if the Tigers heard McDonough’s priceless joke, because they finally figured out on offense when it mattered most. Quarterback Cade Klubnik put a cherry on top of his excellent outing with a game-winning 50-yard touchdown run with 1:16 to go.

With only two games remaining, the odds of Clemson sneaking into the 12-team postseason are incredibly slim. They’re going to have to win out to keep the minimal hopes alive, beginning with next Saturday’s contest against The Citadel.
After that, Clemson will wrap up the regular season at home against South Carolina, currently ranked No. 21 in the nation.
Mike Tyson Has Been Universally Praised In Loss To Jake Paul
It obviously wasn’t the result Tyson wanted, but he can only be praised for suiting up at the age of 58 to face a man 31 years his junior.
The former undisputed world heavyweight champion has carved a legacy as one of the best to ever grace the boxing ring. But father time is undefeated, and Tyson just never stood a chance against the younger, faster and more athletic Paul. There is no shame in that.
