Football fans are teeing off on Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders over his comments about being judged differently from other coaches.
Deion Sanders is entering his second season as head coach of the Buffaloes. He inherited a one-win team and quadrupled their win total in just one year, though the Buffs lost eight of their final nine games following a perfect 3-0 start.
While speaking to reporters during the Big 12 media day at Allegiant Stadium (home of the Las Vegas Raiders), “Prime Time” was asked if he feels pressure “to perform at a higher level” based on his status.
“Yes. I’m judged on a different scale. My wins are totally different than your wins. Your wins, you’re just judging football…I can’t win nine games and…our GPA suffers. Our GPA can’t be high, but we lose another eight games….My wins are different. We have to win in every area. That’s the way we’re judged.”
Sanders added that higher expectations have been part of him throughout his life, not just football.
Let’s just say that fans on X/Twitter didn’t buy Deion Sanders’s statement about being judged differently from other coaches.

There’s good reason to believe that Sanders’ Buffaloes will improve considerably in year two, and not just because of experience. Deion’s son, quarterback Shedeur Sanders, took more sacks than any other quarterback in the country a year ago.
Colorado went great lengths to bolster Shedeur’s pass protection, landing Matthew Bedford and Kahlil Benson from Illinois and Tyler Johnson from Illinois via the transfer portal. A healthy Travis Hunter, who missed three games last year, should also make a considerable difference in Boulder.
Deion Sanders & Buffs Open Season vs. North Dakota State
The Buffaloes will try to begin the 2024 season on a high note when they welcome the North Dakota State Bison on Aug. 29 (8:00 p.m. EST) in a game that will be aired on ESPN.
After playing host to North Dakota State, the Buffaloes will travel to Nebraska with a showdown against the rival Cornhuskers on Sept. 7 (7:30 p.m. EST). Their mini two-game road trip will conclude with a Sept. 14 showdown against the Colorado State Rams.
