Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders had some harsh words for his players ahead of Saturday’s game against Arizona.
Coach Prime—who has repeatedly claimed to be invested in his athletes, and not just because of what they do on the field—had some painful nuggets for his team heading into the weekend. He told them that football might not turn out to be a career for many of them, so they need to work hard while they can.
“You’re 23 years old, and you’re going back to stay with your mom and dad. It’s what it is. It’s what it’s going to be,” he’s heard telling the CU squad in the video shown below. “Where you going? Is normal checks coming in? This is OVER,” Sanders told the team, stressing the importance of planning for the future and working hard today.”

Deion Sanders Wants His Players To Take Advantage Of Their Opportunities While They Can
Sanders stressed the importance of taking advantage of current opportunities, given that NIL deals won’t be an option once college is over.
“Ain’t no NIL, ain’t no more collective. It’s over!” he added. “You’re gonna try and work your butt off and get in one of those leagues, right? But you won’t work your butt off here to get in THE league. You have an opportunity here. It’s free.

“I love the NIL, but I hate it at the same time,” he admitted.
The Buffaloes play the Wildcats this Saturday afternoon. They will hope to improve to 5-2 and go a game above where they finished last season.
