Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders made a bombshell announcement about his playing future during one of the team’s recent practice sessions.
Shedeur Sanders is widely regarded as one of the elite prospects of the 2025 NFL Draft, with some analysts and scouts believing that he could go first overall. Deion Sanders’ son is having another excellent season, with a 73.3 completion percentage for 2,591 yards, 21 touchdowns, six interceptions and three rushing scores.
During one of Colorado’s practice sessions, the football team was informed about an upcoming 8:30 a.m. registration for classes. Deion Sanders Jr. filmed the practice, and that’s where Shedeur confirmed that he’ll declare for the 2025 NFL Draft.
“Register for classes? I’m going to the league,” Shedeur said.
Well, there you have it ladies and gentlemen.
Shedeur Sanders is a consensus top-two quarterback prospect for the 2025 NFL Draft, along with Georgia’s Carson Beck. Miami’s Cameron Ward, Texas’ Quinn Ewers and Alabama’s Jalen Milroe are also among the top signal-callers who are projected to be first-round picks.

The Sanders NFL Draft watch is interesting because there’s no clear-cut front-runner for the first overall pick. There are nine teams who are either 2-6 or 2-7, and most of them will be in the market for a new quarterback next year.
Of course, Sanders’ teammate and two-way superstar Travis Hunter is also a hot candidate to go first overall. All in all, there’s a real chance that the two Buffaloes stars will be top-three picks in 2025.
Potential Landing Spots For Shedeur Sanders
The nine teams with only two wins are the New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers, Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, New York Giants, Miami Dolphins, Jacksonville Jaguars, New England Patriots and Las Vegas Raiders.
Of those teams, only the Dolphins (Tua Tagovailoa), Jaguars (Trevor Lawrence) and Patriots (Drake Maye) have a long-term QB in place. So you can count on the other six teams to be in on Sanders if they continue to tank, though the 4-5 Indianapolis Colts also make sense.
