Multiple Colorado players have spoken up in defense of head coach Deion Sanders following a damning report.
The report, published by Athlon Sports, claimed CU players were forced to attend a Lil Wayne concert earlier this year because his son, Shedeur Sanders, was the opening act.
“Hey man, that’s crazy because we didn’t even know I was going to perform,” the quarterback said this week. “How we decide five minutes (before), but dad had already predetermined? Dad didn’t even know we were gonna perform.”
Following the many denials from the program, many people believed the publication made the story up. However, long snapper Camden Dempsey, whom folks refer to as the Governor of Colorado, has said this is not the case, claiming they were fed the lie by a disgruntled athlete.
Dempsey was among the players who spoke up for Coach Prime, taking to X/Twitter to discredit the report. He has since explained the situation in more detail in a video, explaining that Sanders presented the players with an opportunity to score tickets through a NIL deal by posting about the show.

Camden Dempsey Believes He Knows Who Leaked The Lie To The Press
The long snapper said he had a pretty good idea who fed the story to the press, though he didn’t mention any names.
Meanwhile, Deion Sanders took to social media to deny the claims himself late last week, branding one of the biggest lies ever.
It does appear that he asked his players to support Shedeur by attending the concert, and some people may have felt some way about it. But no one is saying attendance was mandatory.
