Colorado Buffaloes two-way superstar Travis Hunter found a clever way to troll former NFL All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman over the latter’s “bland” comments that made headlines earlier this week.
Travis Hunter has emerged as a can’t-miss superstar and top 2025 NFL Draft prospect with his all-world play as a wide receiver and cornerback. But in his appearance on the “St. Brown Podcast” hosted by brothers Amon-Ra and Equanimeous St. Brown, Sherman stated that he finds Hunter “kind of bland” as a receiver.

It appears Hunter wanted to use Sherman’s take as motivation. Before the Buffaloes’ Week 5 road game against UCF, Hunter was seen spotting a white t-shirt that read “Bland” with air quotation marks:
Coming into Saturday’s action against the undefeated Knights, Travis Hunter had 37 receptions for 472 yards and five touchdowns to go along with two pass defenses, one forced fumble and an interception.

Hunter didn’t miss a beat against UCF, racking up nine receptions for 89 yards, one touchdown along with a highlight-reel interception and one pass breakup over the first three and a half quarters.
Sherman is one of the greatest corners of his generation, with five Pro Bowl selections, three First-team All-Pro nods and a Super Bowl 58 ring on his resume. He certainly knows a thing or two about what elite NFL wide receivers look like, but let’s just say he couldn’t be more wrong on his Hunter take.
Travis Hunter Is A Top 2025 NFL Draft Prospect
A lot can change between now and next April, but the two-way superstar is widely projected to be a top five or 10 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Hunter is playing at a historically good level for Deion Sanders’ group, and it’ll be interesting to see how he’s utilized at the professional level. But whether it’s wide receiver or corner, Hunte has a bright future in the pos.
