Colorado’s home win against Baylor on Saturday night served up the wildest finish of the new college football season, with Shedeur Sanders and LaJohntay Wester combining for one of the most epic Hail Mary plays in recent memory.
The Buffaloes were down by seven in the dying embers and were in desperate need of a touchdown when Shedeur took off to his left and tossed up a prayer. Wester managed to make the catch to help CU send the game into overtime.
An alternate angle from the end zone has since surfaced online, showing just how incredible the sequence was, even more so given the rain.

LaJohntay Wester “Made A Play” To Save The Game
Both players spoke about the Hail Mary after the game.
“I just trusted God. God just threw it up to God, and God answered the prayer,” Shedeur Sanders said of the remarkable throw.
“It was a Hail Mary,” LaJohntay Wester added. “I was one on one. I just ran down there. I see him (Shedeur) rolling out, and then I see the ball coming my way. As a receiver, your job is to make the quarterback right whether it’s a good ball or bad ball, and I just made a play on the ball.”
Colorado would win the game in overtime, with Travis Hunter making a huge defensive play at the end by forcing a fumble on the one-inch line.
