Caleb Williams did not play in USC’s 42-28 Holiday Bowl win over Louisville on Wednesday night, but he was still trending online after the game.
The Trojans quarterback, now definitely bound for the NFL, opted out of the matchup as teammate Miller Moss stepped in. The latter threw for a whopping 372 yards and six touchdowns, an incredible performance that had fans suggesting Williams isn’t as good as the hype suggests and was simply playing in a system designed for any QB to thrive.

Might this affect the way NFL scouts view Caleb Williams? We highly doubt it. While Lincoln Riley knows how to get the best out of his QBs, to suggest that Williams is not as talented as he seems is unfair. All you have to do is look at him play.
It’s why he’ll be entering the NFL as the No. 1 overall pick barring something shocking.
As for Moss, he didn’t do his starting prospects any harm with Wednesday’s performance but will have his work cut out for him over the offseason.
“He did a great job,” Riley admitted. “Shoot, he might have scared off anybody that would want to come here anyway. So, he was awesome. It’s a performance game. I’ve said previously, and our local guys know this: It’s really, really important to me the longer I coach and going through this — and I don’t know it all — having people that (feel) this program is incredibly important to them.
