Not only were fans back in 2021 for the college football season, but so were the signs during College GameDay.
“College Gameday” usually features fans’ signs where people will say just about anything to go viral on social media. One woman’s sign was no joke as she held up a sign that read “Proud Marine Mom” with a photo of the Marine and the Marine Corps seal.
The sign was accompanied by the words “Love you Ryan!” and “#I don’t kneel.”
The 2020 college football season started out with controversy when teams decided to take a knee before the start of games in protest of racial and social injustice. The kneeling started in the wake of the death of George Floyd at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer.
Kneeling protests started in 2016 when former NFL QB Colin Kaepernick decided to do it during the national anthem.
