ESPN SportsCenter host John Anderson is wishing he could take his comment back about Urban Meyer, because he is feeling the wrath from his family as a result.
During the Ohio State-Clemson Fiesta Bowl game, Meyer was shown on ESPN moments prior to Justin Fields’ game-ending interception in the College Football Playoff semifinal.
“Look at Urban Meyer,” Anderson says. “He was going to spend time with his family, but went to this game instead.”
Meyer once admitted in the past to not spending enough time with his family when he was at Florida, but he made sure to make that a priority when he got to Ohio State. The former Ohio State head coach was at the Fiesta Bowl with his entire family.
“How is this type of commentary even acceptable? The entire family including grandkids went to support my husband and the buckeyes. We had the best week in Arizona,” Meyer’s oldest daughter, Nicki, wrote.
“(ESPN) have some class. This is bad. I’d @ this guy but don’t know who it is. Pass it along friends.”

His wife also chimed in:
“I am DEEPLY offended by this off-hand rude/ignorant comment by someone who knows NOTHING about our family,” Urban’s wife, Shelley, said.
“We were ALL together this bowl trip-urbans job was limited to a couple hours the 26th/27th and more on the 28th (not that it’s anyone’s biz)-still WAY less than coaching.”
Meyer is expected to draw interest from NFL teams this offseason, but for now, he is working at FOX.
