The Ohio State Buckeyes’ bid for an undefeated season came to an ugly end on Saturday afternoon, as they were blown out by the archrival Michigan Wolverines by a final score of 45-23.
This showdown was especially hyped up because the Wolverines and Buckeyes went into the game as the nation’s No. 3 and No. 2 ranked teams, respectively. The winning club was sure to lock up one of the four spots in the College Football Playoff National Championship that begins next month.
Needless to say, it was a lost opportunity for the Buckeyes, and it’s certainly a game that head coach Ryan Day will want to forget.
Ohio State’s frustrating loss was so bad that social media blasted Day and had a field day mentioning former Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer. Here are some of the best tweets on the day referencing Meyer.

Meyer won two national championships with the Florida Gators, whom he coached from 2005 to 2010. He then moved on to the Buckeyes and coached the program from 2012 to 2018, leading the team to a national title in 2014.
The Buckeyes have remained a juggernaut under coach Day. Of course, the only thing missing is a national championship.
