The Urban Meyer train to the NFL appears to be heaed straight for the NFL.
Over the past few weeks, Meyer has been linked to the Jacksonville Jaguars and he has even met with owner Shad Khan.
According to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, there has been “regular communication” between Meyer and Khan. It clearly went well because the former Buckeyes coach is already building a coaching staff.
“Former Ohio State HC Urban Meyer has been assembling a coaching staff, including some assistants from the college ranks, should he decide to become the Jaguars’ next HC, per league sources,” Schefter reported on Saturday.
Meyer won three national championships and compiled a 187-32 college coaching record during stints at Bowling Green, Utah, Florida and Ohio State.
If he is indeed on his way to Jacksonville, he will be in charge of guiding Trevor Lawrence for years to come.
