A high school softball highlight has gone viral on social media, which is saying a lot for both high school and softball as such plays don’t often generate online buzz.
The play, which you can see in the video below, has gotten people talking on Twitter for very understandable reasons.
Carthage senior Jada Walton ended up dodging a tag by pulling the oldest trick in the book on a catcher after rounding third base. Employing a move straight out of a 90s cartoon, Jada got the catcher to turn her head by pointing behind her in a “what’s going on back there?” sort of motion to keep herself in.

Needless to say, fans couldn’t believe anyone would fall for that.

It’s really hard to believe anyone would think to try this. It’s even harder to believe it would work.
Both scenarios ended up being played out and it’s really embarrassing for the catcher. It would have probably been embarrassing for Jada too had the opponent not fallen for it.
