Tylan Kiere Jones has reportedly been arrested on a charge of third-degree domestic violence.
The 21-year-old UAB Blazers defensive lineman was booked into jail in Oneonta, Alabama on Wednesday night after being accused of several acts of violence against his now ex-girlfriend.
That unnamed woman claims they had been dating for four months and Jones choked, hit and threw the 21-year-old woman to the floor multiple times over the past month. She also obtained a temporary protection from abuse order against Jones on Wednesday.
Jones is also accused of kicking her in the head with his boots on, beating both of their dogs to the point where the dogs could not move, and smothering his girlfriend with a pillow.
One incident states Jones threw a long kitchen knife at the woman, which stuck in her left leg. “He then pulled the knife out and told her he would kill her if she told the police,’’ the report states.
The victim received three internal and five external stiches from the knife wound. “She states she is in fear of her life.”
Jones, who is from Mississippi, committed to UAB in 2019 and joined the team in 2020 as a junior.
