The Las Vegas Raiders are to blame, if Chiefs fans are still wondering what the hell happened that left their offense with a big hole in it.
Speaking to Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Tyreek Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, spoke to Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel and explained that the Chiefs were forced to make the trade following the blockbuster Davante Adams contract extension.
As soon as Adams got his deal, the Chiefs knew Hill wouldn’t ever take less than Adams and risked losing him to free agency next year.
“The Adam’s deal really flipped everything upside down… The Chiefs realized he wasn’t going to sign for less than Adams,” Rosenhaus said.
Hill was already among the highest-paid receivers in the league, but Adams beat him out of the water when he inked a five-year, $140 million contract with the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Chiefs couldn’t afford to give Hill and decided to get something for him instead of absolutely nothing after the 2022 season was done. Hill received a four-year, $120 million contract with over $70 million guaranteed from Miami.
