Travis Hunter took a brutal late hit in the first half against Colorado State that shocked the football world. According to ESPN’s Quint Kessenich, Hunter was taken to the local hospital for evaluation, ending his night in Colorado’s rivalry matchup against the Rams.
Following Saturday’s game, Sanders said that his star two-way player would be “out for a few weeks.”
Hunter’s girlfriend also shared a message from the hospital where she posted a picture of the star in his bed.
“Travis is okay,” she wrote. “Thank you for the prayers.”
Having him out is going to hurt Colorado as well as fans who have enjoyed watching him. Hunter has taken the college football world by storm in his first year with Deion Sanders at Colorado.
The dynamic two-way player has played 183 snaps on defense and 157 snaps on offense coming into Saturday’s game. He has caught 14 passes for 192 yards as a wide receiver. On defense, he has five tackles, three pass breakups, one interception, and has allowed only three receptions on 10 targets.

The downside of him being out means the Buffaloes are essentially losing two players. Buffaloes are missing one of their top wide receivers and their top cornerback at the same time.
That is brutal.
