The Deion Sanders era in Colorado is officially underway.
The former JSU head coach kicked off his career in charge of the Buffaloes with a win that has sent shockwaves through the college football world, guiding his new team to a 45-42 victory over the TCU Horned Frogs on Saturday afternoon.
Deion’s son, Shedeur Sanders, was on fire all game, as was Travis Hunter.
Travis’s debut was special in that he played on both sides of the ball, operating as a cornerback, as well as a wide receiver. The former Collins Hill High School standout played a remarkable 110 snaps as he made 11 receptions for 119 yards on offense while recording three tackles and a spectacular interception on defense.
Shedeur would make Colorado history as he’s become the first quarterback to throw for over 500 yards in a Buffaloes debut. The 21-year-old passed for 510 yards, though he had a 50-yard pass dropped, making 38-of-47 attempts for four touchdowns and zero interceptions.
Social media reckons either one of the Colorado stars will win the Heisman this season.

Deion didn’t wait until the end of the game to suggest Hunter would be the one, implying as much after watching his “other son” cook for a single half of football.
It appears we’re in for some exciting times with this new-look Colorado side, though it’s way too early to crown any of their players the Heisman.
