Travis Hunter looks like he’s ready to return to playing after practicing this week for the first time since suffering a scary injury against Colorado State in mid-September.
The cornerback, who also lines up as a wide receiver for the Colorado Buffaloes, had been out with a lacerated liver following a nasty hit from Rams defensive back Henry Blackburn.
Blackburn received death threats from Buffs fans after the hit on Travis but the two quickly patched things up and have since gone out bowling together. In a video posted by Well Off Media, Travis was shown participating in one-on-one drills with wide receiver Omarion Miller, who himself had a remarkable outing against USC two Saturdays ago.
The clip below shows the star CB pulling off a neat interception and suggests he’s ready to be thrust back into the defense, as well as the offense.
Hunter missed his third straight game in CU’s 27-24 win over the Arizona State Sun Devils and head coach Deion Sanders previously indicated he would love it if the player would remain out until the Buffs’ bye week.
Colorado will be playing their next game against Stanford this Friday, and whether the two-way star has involvement remains to be seen.
