Colorado Buffaloes star Travis Hunter has shared his reaction to Deion Sanders calling out his players’ commitment following the embarrassing loss to Stanford last week.
The Buffs remain the butt of jokes among football fans after surrendering a 29-0 lead against the Cardinal on Friday night, and Coach Prime was seething after having to watch on helplessly as they fashioned a collapse.
“They gotta make up their mind, are they in love with this game or like it,” he told reporters after the loss. “When you love something, you give to it unconditionally. You give everything you got to it. But when you like it, that’s just a button you push.
“It’s hard for me because I love this. Without a shadow of a doubt, I am truly 100 percent in love with this thing. I just want people to match me. Match my passion, match my heart, match my love, match my consistency.”
Prime’s locker-room message to the team has also been revealed this week.
Hunter, who made his return on Friday after a three-game absence due to a lacerated liver, agrees with Deion’s comments and has shared a live reaction to what his coach had to say about the performance.
“Stuff like that make you get to second-guessing, ‘Do you love this game or do you just like it? Do you like to play it because it’s fun?’ And I get what he’s saying right there man. You got to love this game to go out there and put your body on the line every day,” he said.
“I love the game. I’m gonna go out there and dominate every chance I get. It doesn’t matter if I’m rusty, ready to go. I’m gonna go out there and give it my best. I know a lot of players on the team love the game, but we gotta show more.”

Hunter had 13 receptions for 140 yards and two touchdowns but struggled against Stanford’s receivers on the defensive end, leading many to suggest he’s taking too many snaps on both sides of the ball and should focus on one position.
