Colorado’s Travis Hunter introduced himself to the Power Five with a uniquely sensational performance against TCU last year as he starred on both sides of the ball and received an unbelievable number of snaps on either end.
The Buffaloes won their first three games of the season, making believers out of many people. However, they were thrust into a slump after the cornerback suffered a lacerated liver against Colorado State and were never quite the same, winning just one of their nine remaining games to finish the season 4-8.
With his first season all wrapped up, Hunter has shared his opinion on the reason things went downhill for Deion Sanders after an exhilarating start to life in Boulder.
“We didn’t get what we wanted,” he said on the final episode of Amazon’s ‘Coach Prime’ (H/T Athlon Sports).
“I mean we tried our best to get a lot of guys to come in as one and that’s kind of hard to do knowing that we got a lot of talent but we wasn’t able to put it all together and have years under our belt with the coaches. So, we just gotta do better next year with bonding.”
Meanwhile, Sanders has made notable attempts to address what many perceived to be Colorado’s most glaring issue as he’s brought in new personnel for the offensive line. Of course, it would help if they could bond too.
