The Colorado Buffaloes have lost a highly-rated commitment following their sixth straight loss of the 2023 season.
Deion Sanders closed his first term in charge of the Buffs with a game against Utah on Saturday and will now turn his attention to recruiting after coaching the team to three more wins than they got in 2022. Things are already off to a bad start, however, as four-star quarterback Antwann Hill Jr. decommitted this Sunday.
“I was strongly thinking about reclassifying to 2024,” said Hill, who committed to the program last month. “After a long talk with my family, I’m [not] reclassifying anymore and would like to reopen my recruitment.”
Hill is the fifth-ranked QB in the class of 2025, per 247Sports.
“I can tell they really care about me and want me to take over the program when Shedeur [Sanders] leaves,” he said when he revealed his intention to play in Boulder in October. “So whenever coach Prime said that, I knew he was being 100 percent honest with me, and I knew I would be a fool not take this opportunity that coach Prime had provided me with.”
While he has reneged on his commitment, Hill told ESPN that the Buffaloes remain a priority for him.

“I really just want to take the process slower and make sure I’m making the right decision for me and my family at the end of the day. I’m going to get back out there on the market and make the right decision.”
Meanwhile, Coach Prime has declared that there’s going to be a whole lot to come in the offseason as he’s set to go to work on plugging his team’s defeciencies.
“You are gonna be pleased with what’s coming,” he said after Saturday’s loss. “I promise you that. Everything you see that we have a lack thereof, a deficit, we’re gonna fill that need.”
