A top college football prospect found a colorful way to describe Deion Sanders ahead of the Under Armour All-America Game.
Participants were asked a range of questions, including about their favorite coaches, NIL, and the top spenders on official visits.
Per The Athletic, the interviews, which were undertaken by Grace Raynor and Manny Navarro, included one particularly interesting query that had to do with the most arrogant coaches the recruits had to deal with during recruitment.
Nick Saban was the top choice among the young athletes – one prospect even described him as “robotic” and lacking personality. While Sanders, his Aflac partner, wasn’t thought to be arrogant, one prospect referred to the Colorado HC as the most cocky.
“Probably (Colorado’s) Deion (Sanders),” the prospect said, before switching the word around. “It’s all love though. He goes about it in his own unique way. It’s not arrogance — just cockiness.”
That isn’t at all hard to believe. Sanders’ confidence and showmanship are what kept him relevant throughout his playing days and continue to do so now that he’s a coach. Of course, there’s the fact that he’s considered to be the best cornerback in NFL history and isn’t a bad coach either.
