Tom Brady serves as a mentor for Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, and the two reportedly talk after every game.
After leading Colorado on a 98-yard drive in the final 2 minutes to force overtime, the Buffaloes quarterback said he was thinking of the NFL legend.
“All I was thinking was Brady mode,” Sanders said in his postgame interview. “Brady mode, that’s it. They left too much time out there.”
The play from Colorado’s quarterback earned him a response from the seven-time Super Bowl champion.
Brady responded with simple emojis.
Brady took things further on Instagram, saying he hopes to go “Shedeur mode” at some point.

For Brady, he shocked everybody by actually staying retired this offseason as he plans to join FOX as an NFL broadcaster in 2024. He’ll likely get the opportunity to call some of Sanders’ games.
Deion Sanders’s Colorado team moved to 3–0 with a double-overtime, comeback win over massive underdog Colorado State, 43–35. Shedeur Sanders finished the night with 348 passing yards and four touchdowns.
Next Saturday, Colorado heads to Oregon in what should be an epic offensive matchup.
Shedeur will need to pull out some more Tom Brady magic as the Buffaloes will be without Trav Hunter for a few weeks.
