Just heartbreaking news coming out of Dallas this weekend.
Wyoming football signee Tony Evans Jr. was shot and tragically killed on Sunday. According to the Dallas Morning News, Evans Jr. and another person were shot in a hotel room around 1:30 a.m at the Hawthorn Suites in the Stemmons Corridor neighborhood near Dallas Love Field Airport.
Both victims were taken to a hospital, where Evans was pronounced dead. The other victim was in stable condition.
18-year-old Rodney Hudson spoke to the Dallas Morning News about Evans.
“He wanted everything to work out,” Hudson said. “And he was going to have a breakout season. That’s what he did. Whatever he told me he did.”
He caught 13 passes for 268 yards and four touchdowns last fall.

The 17-year-old was a three-star recruit that was No. 179-ranked athlete according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite from the class of 2021.
