The three early favorites for the 2024 Heisman Trophy have dropped as the oddsmakers have released odds for the accolade’s next holder.
Louisiana State University’s Jayden Daniels won this season’s award after a sensational season with the Tigers in which he registered 5,000 total yards, 50 touchdowns, and only four interceptions.
He’s not going to repeat in 2024, having declared his intention to enter the NFL Draft. So there’s going to be a new holder next year.
Per the bookies, Alabama’s Jalen Milroe, Texas’ Quinn Ewers, and Georgia’s Carson Beck are tied atop the favorites list at +750.
Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel is next up, having played as the starting quarterback for Oklahoma this season. Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy is behind him, though his odds should look a lot better if he leads the Wolverines to a national title on Monday. Still, he could opt to enter the draft thereafter.
Meanwhile, Shedeur Sanders is far off the top after flirting with the favorites for a brief period last season. The Colorado QB only won four games in his first campaign with the Buffaloes, mainly due to a weak offensive line that left him exposed as the most sacked signal-caller in the Power Five.
