The NCAA is making waves this week after they filed a trademark for the term “Mask Madness” as a play on the popular name for the Division I men’s basketball tournament, March Madness.
The filing was made on Dec. 23. According to it, the NCAA wants to use the term to promote public awareness about the benefits of wearing masks during a global pandemic that continues to claim lives.
After being forced to cancel the event this past spring, it’s not shocking that the NCAA will do everything it can to hold it in 2021 to recoup the revenue.
