Social media brought the jokes after a player with a familiar name was unveiled as a new Boise State commit.
As it happens, three-star edge rusher Bol Bol has accepted an offer from the Broncos, committing to the program and announcing as much via Instagram.
Who knew there were two Bol Bols out there?
The Bol Bol most of us were familiar with before this new development is the son of NBA legend Manute Bol, who played his college ball for Oregon before his move up to the NBA.
So when it was announced that Bol Bol had committed to Boise State, the jokes came as expected.

“The basketball player?” someone asked.
“Hes in the nba,” another claimed.
“For those in the comments asking, this is a different guy. Who knew there was multiple Bol Bol’s lol,” someone else explained.
“So there’s 2 Bol Bol’s?” a user asked.
“Bol squared,” someone joked.
“I wonder if he’ll help lead them to a bowl bowl,” another quipped.
That last one… there’s just not enough that we can say.
Who Is This Boise State Version Of Bol Bol?
The younger Bol Bol is Canadian and moved to the U.S. as an exchange student to improve his prospects of a football career.
He chose to play his senior year at Yelm High School, which turned out to be great for him, given that he received a scholarship offer from the Mountain West program.
Bol, a physically imposing figure at 6ft 6in tall and 255 pounds, drew the attention of scouts after showing an innate ability to disrupt offensive plays.
Given his name, it’s likely that college football fans will also be paying attention once he arrives in Idaho.
