Quinn Ewers has made an interesting and surprising decision ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft.
While the Texas Longhorns quarterback did not declare for the draft in favor of one more season with the university following their playoff disappointment, he will be throwing at Pro Day this week.
That is according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, who notes that the young QB wants to give scouts a look at his abilities way ahead of the 2025 draft.
On3 adds that Ewers will throw passes to the Longhorns players who are set to go through the draft process this year, which includes Xavier Worthy and Adonai Mitchell. The decision could benefit the receivers immensely as they already have chemistry with the signal-caller who was throwing to them all season.

He played 12 games in 2023, throwing for 3,479 yards, 22 touchdowns, and six interceptions as he completed 69 percent of his attempts. He put on a monster performance in the Big 12 Championship Game vs. Oklahoma State, registering 452 passing yards and four TDs as he set records in both categories where the title game is concerned.
The program’s spring football season kicked off on Tuesday and saw Ewers and QB teammate Arch Manning involved in some friendly competition.
Ewers will have added exposure next season due to the Longhorns’ move to the SEC. Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian reckons another year of experience in college will greatly benefit the player’s career.
“Having one more season of starting, getting his start number up into the 30s as a bonafide starter,” he said on the ‘All Facts No Brakes’ podcast last month. “Being a leader of the team, continuing to mature, staying healthy, things of that nature.”
Manning was expected to battle it out with Ewers for the starting job, but Sarkisian has declared that the latter will keep his position as a starter as the former will also benefit from playing understudy for another term.
