Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning is reportedly putting in the work well ahead of the 2024 NCAA football season.
Manning is expected to be the No. 2 QB behind Quinn Ewers, who’s reportedly planning to bypass the 2024 NFL Draft for one more year of college ball. No. 2 QB Maalik Murphy has entered the transfer portal.
According to Longhorns reporter Anwar Richardson of Orangebloods.com, the future third-generation NFL quarterback has already added 15 pounds of muscle dating back to this past January.
Richardson noted that Manning weighed 210 back in January but has since added 15 points of offense. On top of that, Richardson added that the 18-year-old “has improved to the point where he can run the entire offense.”
Arch is the son of Cooper Manning, the eldest son of former NFL quarterback Archie Manning. Cooper’s two younger brothers, Peyton and Eli, were both star NFL quarterbacks who each won a pair of Super Bowl championships.
Cooper was a promising wide receiver prospect for Ole Miss, but unfortunately had to retire because of spinal stenosis before he got to begin his college career. Peyton and Eli were drafted first overall in 1998 and 2004, respectively.

Peyton won an NFL record five MVP awards, leading the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos to Super Bowl championships in 2006 and 2015, respectively. Eli led the underdog New York Giants to Super Bowl 42 and 46 victories over the dynastic New England Patriots.
