The Texas Longhorns are really feeling themselves.
Just before their season opener against Louisiana Tech, members of Texas’ defensive secondary did their pregame warm-ups in white t-shirts with burnt-orange font that said, “There’s only one DBU.”
If you can’t tell, that is a massive shot at the LSU Tigers, who likes to give itself that name as the nation’s premier football team for defensive backs.
Players like Patrick Peterson, Tyrann Mathieu, Morris Claiborne, Greedy Williams, Eric Reid, and Jamal Adams all came from LSU. All that talent is just from the last ten years.
Some Texas defensive backs in the NFL include six-time Pro Bowler Earl Thomas, Kenny Vaccaro, Quandre Diggs, Pro Bowlers Michael Griffin and Nathan Vasher.
Texas and LSU will be the marquee game in Week 2, kicking off at 7:30 p.m. E.T. on Saturday night.
