Texas Longhorns fans who witness their team upset the Alabama Crimson Tide at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday evening took the opportunity to make a statement.
After the Longhorns upset Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide 34-24, Texas fans began chanting “S-E-C”, letting the rest of the division know that their team means business. Check out the clip below, courtesy of The Athletic’s Ari Wasserman.
Coming off an easy 37-10 victory over Rice in the season opener, Steve Sarkisian and his Longhorns were more than ready for the annual powerhouse that is the Crimson Tide.
Texas controlled most of the game thanks to a near-flawless performance by quarterback Quinn Ewers, who tossed 349 passing yards and three touchdowns without an interception. Ewers once again reminded the nation why he’s projected to be a top-10 pick in next year’s NFL Draft.
The Longhorns’ ground game also racked up 105 yards and a touchdown, while the defense forced Alabama into two turnovers (both interceptions by quarterback Jalen Milroe). Of course, Alabama did themselves no favors by committing 10 penalties for 90 yards.
