An incoming freshman for the Texas Longhorns is not having the best start to his college career.
Texas incoming freshman wide receiver Keithron Lee was arrested in Bryan, Texas over the weekend on charges of assault of a family member. He was later released on $5,000 bond. The three-star recruit has been suspended from team activities.
“We’re aware of the situation with Keithron Lee. We have talked with his family and he has been suspended from all team activities at this time as we continue to monitor the legal process,” Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian said in a statement.
Lee originally committed to Texas under former head coach Tom Herman, but the change in head coahces did not sway him, so he officially signed with the Longhorns in February.
In his senior season at Rudder, Lee caught 65 passes for 1,139 yards and 16 touchdowns while adding 554 rushing yards and nine touchdowns on 65 carries.
