The LSU Tigers entered rivalry week with a great opportunity to get themselves one step closer to booking a spot in the College Football Playoff.
Having already secured a spot in the SEC title game, a win against Texas A&M this week would have set themselves up for a win-and-you’re-in situation next week against Georgia, as a win against the Bulldogs would surely bump them into the top four in the nation.
Unfortunately, that dream was dashed on Saturday when the Aggies upset LSU on rivalry weekend, 38-23.
With three losses on the season, the Tigers are surely out of the national championship picture at this point. And that understandably had some of their players feeling a little salty last night.
Unfortunately, one of those salty LSU players took things a little too far when he decided to lay out an A&M fan who was storming the field to celebrate his school’s victory.
This is just the latest example of why it is probably a good idea for the NCAA to reconsider their rules surrounding fans storming the field after wins.

The Aggies fans had good reason to celebrate the win. With a 4-7 record entering the game, they hadn’t had much to be excited about before this weekend. They entered the game as double-digit underdogs, too, as few were giving them a shot against their rivals.
Add it all up, and this win had to feel good for Aggies fans—at least for those who didn’t get decked by an LSU player during the celebration.
