With two-and-a-half minutes remaining in regulation, an open RJ Barrett would give the Duke Blue Devils a 64-63 lead with a clutch 3-pointer. Everything pretty much went downhill for Barrett after that.
Barrett had seven bad turnovers during the game against Michigan State, and in Duke’s final 2 possessions, it would be Barrett that was called on and ultimately choke the game away. He had the opportunity to tie the game at the free throw, only to miss the first one. In an effort to purposely miss the second, he got a fortunate bounce and hit it by accident.
The Spartans would go on to run the clock out and advance to the Final Four.
Duke fans were displeased, and instead of some of them congratulating the team on a hard fought game, many of them took to social media and were just downright terrible towards Barrett.
