One NBA team has emerged as a favorite to land Bronny James following his recent debut for USC.
Bronny comes from basketball royalty, with his father, LeBron James, considered by many to be the Greatest of All Time. Despite a life-threatening ordeal earlier this year, the 19-year-old has managed to return to basketball and has since kicked off his college career.
Per NBA insider Adam Zagoria, SportsBetting.ag has the Los Angeles Lakers as the 4-1 favorites to draft the Trojans star, with the New York Knicks behind at 9-1. LeBron’s former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, are 11-1 on such a front, as are the Oklahoma City Thunder, who have up to five picks in the upcoming NBA Draft, three of them unprotected.
At the moment, we aren’t sure whether the odds will remain if Bronny opts to play another year in college. Meanwhile, the Lakers are the 6-1 DraftKings favorite to land him in 2024.
There’s a lot to consider here, but perhaps none so impactful as James’ desire to play on the same team as his son before he retires.

The former Sierra Canyon guard scored four points in his USC debut on December 10 and added five more on Sunday, having played 14 minutes. He scored six in a win over the Alabama State Hornets on Tuesday night.
The younger James was considered to be a potential first-round pick during his recruitment but, given that he suffered cardiac arrest before his first season with the Trojans, something which could affect his draft status, he might consider playing an extra year in college.
