Tate Martell cannot catch a break.
Tate Martell was one of the highest profile transfers of last off-season when he bolted from Ohio State for the Miami Hurricanes. He even received a waiver to play right away.
It did not work out in his favor as freshman Jarren Williams would be named as starting quarterback. During the season, Martell attempted one pass: a seven-yard completion. He also ran seven times for just seven yards. Early in the year, he worked with the wide receivers, but did not record a catch in a game.
Things will only get worse as Miami added yet another QB to the roster in Houston transfer D’Eriq King. He will get his shot to win the job and that does not bode well for Martell.
On Thursday, Martell appeared to address the transfer when he sent out a cryptic tweet.
King completed 63.5-percent of his throws for 2,982 yards, 36 touchdowns, and six interceptions while racking up 674 yards and 14 touchdowns on the ground in 2018.
