Sydney Smith is not letting her haters put her down.
The South Carolina State gymnast used her social media following to tell her followers that all body types can compete in gymnastics and not just the slender women.
The caption on the video stated, “I’m glad I don’t have cannons because I can do sick flips and I got a full ride to college.”
Smith fired back in her response video:
“I don’t know why this was brought up in the first place, but it kinda made me laugh, because that’s just not true at all,” Smith said.
Thanks to Name, Image, and Likeness, athletes like Sydney who are at much smaller schools can enjoy the success of making thousands of fans online and that in turn making her thousands of dollars.

The prominent college gymnast may never make it to the level of Olvia Dunne at LSU, but she is trying to carve out her own lane while hitting back at critics who have things to say about her. With success comes hate.
Smith already has over 1.4 million followers on TikTok and 175,000 followers on Instagram.
Smith is already dominating social media and that’s not likely to slow down any time soon. If she keeps this up, we could possibly see a collaboration between her and Olivia Dunne in the near future. It would be a moment that would truly break the entire internet.
