A surprise Big 12 team is reportedly the club “to watch” in the K.J. Jefferson sweepstakes.
Last week, the Arkansas Razorbacks’ star quarterback entered the 2023-24 NCAA football transfer portal. The 22-year-old spent each of his first five seasons (2019 to 2023) with Arkansas, leading the school to a 2022 Liberty Bowl victory over Kansas last year.
According to a report from Pete Nakos of On3.com, the University of Central Florida Knights have “emerged as the team to” monitor for the Razorbacks star quarterback. And while speaking to Sean Green, Nakos said that Jefferson is “trending to UCF right now.”
The Razorbacks finished 4-8 this season, losing their final game of the 2023 campaign to No. 9 ranked Missouri by a final score of 48-14. Jefferson had to leave the game early in the opening frame with a knee injury.
The 6-foot-3, 247-pound Jefferson threw for 2,107 yards and 19 touchdowns against eight interceptions this season to go along with 447 rushing yards and two touchdowns. For his career, Jefferson has 7,923 passing yards, 67 touchdowns and 18 interceptions, 1,876 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns.
