Stephen A. Smith wants to see Deion Sanders pack his bags and leave Colorado following the Buffaloes’ latest loss.
The Buffs dropped another game on the weekend, losing 34-31 to Arizona on Saturday. The defeat leaves them with a 4-6 record and zero margin for error where bowl eligibility is concerned.
Speaking on ESPN’s ‘Get Up’ this Monday morning, Smith recommended that Deion should leave the Buffs at the end of the season, though it has nothing to do with the loss or the state of affairs in Colorado. He just wants to see him in charge of Texas A&M.
Coach Prime is among several candidates being mentioned in relation to the job and Stephen A. seems like he would love nothing more than to see him take it.
“That’s what I’ve been saying, Deion Sanders in the SEC,” he said. “With that vault that they have available to them. Them hogs that he could recruit. He doesn’t have them at Colorado, and he ain’t going to get them. Deion Sanders.”
“I don’t think they’ll do it,” he admitted, adding, “Texas A&M. Primetime, Deion Sanders in the SEC? That needs to happen.”

Of course, there is some bias here given ESPN’s deal with the SEC – Prime moving there from the Pac-12 would make the partnership even better.
Sanders is unlikely to exit Colorado, however. He’s only been there one year while both of his sons still have eligibility after this season, so it would be difficult to imagine him leaving so soon.
