The Colorado Buffaloes are drawing criticism from just about everywhere this week after managing to lose a game in which they went into halftime up 29-0.
Tipped to go 5-2 and move to within a win of bowl eligibility against the Stanford Cardinal on Friday night, the Buffs got forced into two overtimes and ended up losing 46-43.
ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith discussed the loss during Monday’s episode of ‘First Take’ and took a swipe at quarterback Shedeur Sanders as he pointed out that his father, Deion Sanders, who is Colorado’s head coach, always lived up to the hype.
“I think Deion Sanders is a hell of coach,” Smith declared. “He’s about 7 or 8 dogs away. But here’s the problem, the players got caught up in the shine their coach generated. … Ya’ll are getting y’all A kicked.”
“Show up, stand up cuz your daddy and to the players on that squad, your coach, as much bravado as he had, as much swag as he had, he was the best on the planet week in and week out,” he continued.
“You knew PrimeTime Deion Sanders was the best probably ever. Y’all ain’t on that level. Stop acting like it and show up on the damn field and do what the hell you supposed to do instead of getting your A kicked on national television.”

CU won’t be playing this coming weekend as they’re on a bye week. Deion will hope to correct all of the mistakes they made against the Cardinal when they take on UCLA on October 28.
