The Clemson Tigers are headed back to the College Football Playoff for the fifth straight year as they will be taking on the Ohio State Buckeyes in the semifinals at the Fiesta Bowl.
Tigers sophomore quarterback Trevor Lawrence lit up the Alabama Crimson Tide just 11 months ago in the National Title game, throwing for 347 yards and 3 touchdowns in a 44-16 blowout.
Lawrence just might be playing in his final college football games in the playoff, at least that’s according to a marketing agency CEO.
Vince Thompson, the founder and CEO of MELT, told Paul Finebaum that the 20-year-old could possibly sit out the entire 2020 season to get ready for the NFL.
“What’s he got to gain by coming back?” Thompson said to Finebaum. “What’s the upside? Unless he gets a $100 million insurance policy. And by the way, he could sit out and begin his marketing campaign.”
Basically, he is saying Lawrence has nothing else to play for and to prove. He will definitely be the #1 overall pick.
