Spencer Rattler is back…at least, South Carolina fans are hoping so.
South Carolina football quarterback Spencer Rattler went through his first spring practice in a Gamecocks uniform on Tuesday and the hype he once had in Oklahoma is coming back.
During a recent practice, Rattler showed off his impressive arm that has the fan base thinking great things may be coming in 2022.
He began 2021 as a Heisman Trophy front-runner, but ultimately was replaced by freshman Caleb Williams in the middle of a 55-48 win over Texas and never started again.
Rattler seemed in the perfect spot for him at Oklahoma. He was a five-star talent with a power arm who led the Sooners to the Big 12 championship in 2020.
He played in 23 games over three seasons at Oklahoma under head coach Lincoln Riley, posting a 15-2 record in those starts, throwing 4,595 yards with 40 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
