Spencer Rattler has a chip on his shoulder, which is something that he needs to return back to form that had him coming into last year as the Heisman front runner.
The transfer quarterback from Oklahoma addressed all of his critics with a hype video he posted to Twitter on Saturday. He put them on notice that he has kept all the receipts on what has been said about him.
In 23 games for the Sooners between 2019-21, Rattler completed 361-of-515 passes for 4,595 yards with 40 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He also rushed for 260 yards and nine touchdowns.
Rattler has since had a change of scenery when he transferred to South Carolina and competing for the starting job with Luke Doty and a few freshmen.
“I tell you what, he’s going to be a problem for other teams in the SEC to deal with,” South Carolina analyst Patrick DiMarco said of Rattler, during an interview with JB and Goldwater. “He’s athletic as can be, (but) the first thing that jumps out (are) just his leadership skills.
“It’s with players like Josh Vann, Jaheim Bell and MarShawn Lloyd, and how they’re already, in the second day that he was here, they’re already starting to create these relationships and generate that trust. And not only that, but it was also his second or third day and he’s already demanding more from these guys. I have the ultimate respect for that. If you’re a leader, you’re a leader. You’re not a leader sometimes. It doesn’t matter your situation.”
