Jerome Bettis Jr., the son of Pro Football Hall of Fame running back Jerome Bettis, has officially signed with one of the nation’s top football programs.
After committing to Notre Dame, Jerome Bettis Jr. officially signed with the Fighting Irish on Wednesday. The elder Bettis also played college ball at Notre Dame, leading them to a victory in the 1993 Cotton Bowl.
Bettis Jr. is a 6-foot-2, 190-pound wideout plays high school football at Woodward Academy in College Park, Georgia. Per 247Sports, he caught 30 passes for 369 yards and four touchdowns last season.
The No. 4-ranked Fighting Irish won their last 10 regular-season games to finish with an 11-1 record. They’ll play in the first-ever 12-team postseason tournament, though it remains to be seen if Marcus Freeman’s group will finish in the top-four which would secure a first-round bye.

The elder Jerome Betti was drafted 10th overall by the Los Angeles Rams in 1993. Despite a pair of 1,000-yard seasons, the Rams dealt him to the Pittsburgh Steelers in a 1996 blockbuster trade so they could take future all-time draft bust Lawrence Phillips at No. 6 overall that year.
