The son of former NFL star running back Clinton Portis is getting the opportunity to follow his father’s footsteps. at the collegiate level.
On Thursday, Clinton’s son, Camdin Portis, announced that he has received an offer from the Miami Hurricanes’ football team. Camdin is a standout 6-feet tall cornerback and has a 5.7 rating from Rivals.com.
According to Rivals.com, Camdin has also received offers from Boston College, Charlotte, Colorado, Georgia Tech, Marshall, Penn State, UCLA and Virginia Tech.
Clinton Portis played college football for the Hurricanes from 1999 to 2001, tallying 2,523 rushing yards and 20 rushing scores to go along with 21 receptions for 272 receiving yards and three receiving scores.

Portis was on the legendary ’01 Miami Hurricanes club that won the national championship. That same squad produced a whopping 38 future NFL draft picks, including Ed Reed, Frank Gore, Vince Wilfork, Sean Taylor and Jeremy Shockey.
The Denver Broncos drafted Clinton Portis in the second round (51st overall) in 2002. After two seasons there, he was traded to Washington in a blockbuster deal that brought future Hall of Fame cornerback Champ Bailey to Mile High City.
Clinton Portis’ Career Stats
One of the more underrated running backs of his era, the 2002 Offensive Rookie of the Year exceeded 1,000 yards rushing in six of his nine NFL seasons.
Clinton Portis finished with 9,923 rushing yards and 75 rushing cores to go along with 247 receptions for 2,018 yards and five touchdowns. His best season came with the Broncos in 2003, when Portis rushed for 1,591 yards and 14 touchdowns.
The two-time Pro Bowler also helped Washington to rare postseason appearances in 2005 and 2007. Their victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the ’05 Wild Card Round remains Washington’s most recent playoff victory to date.
Portis is second all-time in rushing among Washington players (6,824), behind only Hall of Famer John Riggins (7,472).
