Football fans are ripping on EA Sports for their surprisingly generous offensive rating of Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes for their upcoming college football game.
Deion Sanders is entering his second season as head coach of the Buffaloes. Though they dropped seven of their final eight games, a 4-8 record was still significant progress from the 2022 group that mustered just one win.
After an 11-year hiatus, EA Sports announced earlier this year that they were bringing back the beloved NCAA football video game series with “EA Sports College Football 25.” The game will be released on July 18.
EA Sports announced its early offensive power rankings or the new video game. Surprisingly, the Buffaloes were rated at 89 overall, which is tied for third-best behind only Georgia (94), Oregon (94), Alabama (91) and Texas (91):

It’s indeed surprising to see the Buffaloes ranked inside the top 10 with all these other NCAA powerhouses. As great as Shedeur Sanders was last year, he was also the most sacked quarterback in the country.
Dylan Edwards was the leading rusher for Deion Sanders’ group with only 321 yards. After Xavier Weaver and two-way star Travis Hunter, the Buffaloes are devoid of game-changing pass-catchers as well.
But hey, the questionable offensive rankings here won’t stop fans from buying the first EA Sports college video game in over a decade…
Deion Sanders & Buffaloes Open 2024 vs. North Dakota State
Prime Time and the Buffaloes will open their 2024 season with a home contest against the North Dakota State Bison on Aug. 29 (8:00 p.m. EST) in a contest that will be aired on ESPN.
Colorado kicked last season off with a bang by defeating the TCU Horned Frogs (the 2022 runner-ups) on the road. We’ll see if they can do the same this year, in front of their home crowd this time.
