LeBron James’ eldest son Bronny James has been working towards bettering himself on the court as fans speculate the possibility of him declaring for the NBA draft. Many people have been against the idea of Bronny going pro so soon, but Skip Bayless is not opposed to it.
The Undisputed host recently shared his views on why he believes that the USC Trojans star is ready to enter the professional basketball scene. On the contrary, Stephen A. Smith has a clashing opinion and does not support the youngster’s possible move.
Skip Bayless claims Bronny James is ready to play in NBA
Popular analyst and the host of the show “Undisputed,” Skip Bayless has recently given his take on the idea of Bronny James declaring for the NBA draft. He affirmed that this is the right time for Bronny James to test out the NBA waters, even though his college stats don’t seem to be very impressive.
“I believe he is ready for the NBA because he is a unique player. It is almost like he was born to complement his father. After all, he can play defense at the NBA level because he has got physicality to him, he has got a high IQ thanks to his father, and he knows how to play basketball. I think he is going to be a really good spot-up three-point shooter,” said Skip Bayless on the ‘Undisputed.’
Bronny has been on restrictions ever since he returned to the court after suffering a critical heart condition. Keeping that in mind, Bayless went past the stats and supported the notion of Bronny going pro. However, Stephen A. Smith feels otherwise.

Stephen A. Smith disagrees with Bayless’ claim
ESPN’s analyst Stephen A. Smith has disagreed with Skip Bayless’ take on Bronny James being ready to be in the NBA. Smith gave a detailed explanation of why the USC Trojans guard is not ready to go pro yet. He emphasized that Bronny should search for better programs at a collegiate level to hone his skills and not think about the NBA for now.
“Based on his resume in college, if he (Bronny James) were to take his talents to the professional level, everybody would believe it’s because of his dad. That is not a good look for him… He should find a good program to go to on a collegiate level. Hone his skills, get that year under his belt, and make sure his health is right so he can flourish because I think the kid got skills and potential,” said Smith.
He highlighted that Bronny’s current performances don’t qualify for the standards of the NBA. Smith recommended Bronny get one more year of experience at the collegiate level to better his skillset.
